Personal Data in the United States and Europe

Personal data is ingrained in all the technologies that contribute to security. Personal data has been virtually unprotected in the United States for decades. The European Union is very protective of personal data. Personal data shall be processed fairly, for explicit and legitimate purposes, for a specified period of time. Personal data appearing in directories is limited to the identification of a particular subscriber, unless the subscriber gives their consent to the publication of additional information. The general data protection regulation has worked to make data protection legislation more protective. Big Data is the set of massive data that is created every day and that no conventional management tool can process. The metadata of all connected devices and terminals is collected and stored by Internet and telecommunications professionals for a wide variety of purposes. Cloud computing involves the use of remote computer servers over a network, most often the Internet, to store or use data.
