Cyberwarfare

The development of information and communication technology (ICT) and the Internet has paved the way for the development of various crimes that occur in cyberspace, including specific forms of warfare — i.e. cyberwarfare. Cyberwarfare refers to politically motivated attacks on ICT for the purpose of penetrating the information systems of countries, organizations or groups, in particular, in order to commit sabotage and espionage. An information conflict is often an obvious, open conflict, which can lead to serious consequences, such as an economic and military conflict. In the study of cyberwarfare, perpetrators can be victims at the same time. The target of cyberwarfare can be any country, organization or individual, which can also be the victim of other entities (for interstate, interorganizational and interpersonal cyberwarfare) at the same time. Espionage, propaganda activities and warfare are the fundamental areas related to cyberwarfare techniques.
