Analysis of JPEG2000 Compression Quality of Optical Satellite Images

Remote sensing satellite image compression processing technology is an important means to realize high-quality image and fast data transmission at the same time. This paper analyzed the basic principles of the JPEG2000 compression algorithm, and discussed satellite image quality evaluation methods and indicators. A large number of high-resolution images of Mapping satellite-1 with the best compression rate with different surface features were selected as the test samples, and the JPEG2000 compression algorithm was used, the wavelet transform was used to compress and reconstruct 25 magnifications, and the trend and characteristics of the peak signal-to-noise ratio of the image with the compression magnification were analyzed. Combined with research results, satellite resources can be rationally allocated and the effectiveness of satellite photography can be improved.
