The Adoption of Ferromagnetic Device for Signal Capturing of Radiometric Measurement Systems

The key role played by the circuit-breaker in power systems combined with the increasing importance of the constancy in the power delivery has made non-invasive techniques fundamental for evaluating circuit-breaker status, namely its breaking capacity by including any minor likelihood of arc reignition, which has shown as being far from feasible through power system modelling and computer simulation, due to the inherent complexity of the adjacent power circuits to be correctly modelled. Alternatively, radiometric techniques have experienced an increasing interest which reasons range from the non-invasive principles to the programmability in its execution. On the other hand, much is to be done before such techniques may be widely adopted, especially for the difficulties in properly capturing the correct triggering signal. Based on this scenario, this work presents a brief review of this relatively recent technique and points out items to which researchers should drive their efforts to overcome the related barriers to overcome.
