Dual Wideband Millimeter-Wave Stacked Cylindrical-Rectangular DRAs for 5G Applications

In this paper, a dual wideband dielectric resonator antenna is proposed for millimeter-wave application. Bandwidth enhancement methods were used to configure the proposed antenna characteristics. The DRA consists of several dielectric resonators to form a special shape. The designed antenna is installed on a grooved ground and built from different dielectric materials. Two wide bands were achieved, the first band ranging (24.2 – 31.33) GHz with fractional bandwidth of 25.7 %, and the second band covers (34.75 – 41.03) GHz with fractional bandwidth of 16.57 %. This result makes the DRA applicable for (28 and 38) GHz millimeter-wave bands for 5G applications.
