Preparing HTTP Traffic for Process Mining

Existing process mining frameworks offer a variety of algorithms to gain insight into business processes based on observed behavior. However, a framework is needed to process and accurately capture information about all events during process execution. The event logs format must also fulfill the minimum input requirements of process mining frameworks. This research addresses the problem of capturing and formatting web applications’ traffic. We open the door for utilizing process mining platforms in discovering advanced information in real-world applications. Our framework allowed accurate modeling of users’ behavior using detailed mapping of web applications traffic into workflow logs. The results show that the framework produced a perfect fitness and 74% precision score, indicating high quality generated workflow logs.
