Abstract:
Standard frequency diverse array (FDA) generates range-angle-dependent transmitting beampattern by adding a relatively small frequency offset to the carrier frequency. To disrupt the coupling of range and angle, several FDA structures with nonlinear frequency offsets have been proposed to obtain a dot-shaped beampattern. In this letter, the reason for the forming of range period in nonlinear FDA is analyzed, and an FDA transmitting beampattern design scheme with both random permutated and power increasing frequency offset, named RP-Pow-FDA, is proposed to achieve better performance. Simulation results show that the proposed FDA has lower sidelobe and better antinoise performance, compared with existing methods.
