Application of Statistical Methods in Improving the Quality of Bogie Frame

Rail transport is energy and time-efficient. Safety and riding quality have become important elements as train speeds have increased. Due to the increased speed, damage to train structures and more frequent accidents occur. Therefore, railway components must be constantly monitored in all processes of production and use. The combination of the production of rail transport components, quality tools, and statistical methods is essential for production with the highest possible efficiency. The paper aims to reveal the causes of the defect rate and to map out the first pass yield in the production of bogie frames, which are used to produce wagons of various types. Using quality methods, shortcomings were identified, and measures were proposed.
