Implementation of the Music Super-Resolution Algorithm, Applied to the Digital Antenna Array of a Radar Station for Detecting Low-Flying Targets

The task of determining the coordinates of a radar station, in particular a low-flying target, is to estimate the direction of arrival of an electromagnetic wave at the receiving antenna array. In this article, the mathematical apparatus of the MUSIC superresolution algorithm is considered, the formulas that define the modeling and the formulas that are used by the algorithm itself to demonstrate its operation are given. The task is to resolve two signals with low elevation angles, namely, the signal reflected along the line of sight and the signal reflected from the underlying surface. The underlying surface was chosen as a mirror. The simulation result is obtained and conclusions are drawn about the dimensions of a linear equidistant digital antenna array for resolving targets under given conditions. A geometric representation of an array of hypothesis vectors is also presented. The basic provisions of the mathematical resolution of two signals using the MUSIC algorithm are demonstrated.
