Benefits of Smart Devices and Grid-tied Minigrids on the Nigerian Electricity Supply Industry

This paper points at the benefits to the Nigerian Power System on the use of smart communicating devices and grid-tied minigrids to reduce energy losses and electricity supply outages. Leveraging global advances in communicating sensors technology, these smart devices can integrate minigrids to the main grid, optimize network performance and increase revenue for the troubled Nigerian Electricity Supply Industry.
