University Digital Document Management and Optimal Strategy of Education Data Warehouses’ Placement

The development of the information society supposes introduction of more and more intelligent and optimal methods for realizing a wide variety of activities; and the education sector occupies one of the first places in the list of priorities. There are several reasons: this is the extreme variety of various business processes at the university, and a special contingent of users who are able to perceive the latest trends and methods of working with information, and even require their prompt implementation. Finally, the use of a highly intelligent product by students also plays an educational role. The article proposes and discusses ways to improve the information systems through using computer science methods, based on the application of graph theory. This is, firstly, the task of designing a university document management system that optimizes documentary support for business processes by reducing number of document units without changing functionality of the processes. For this task, the use of methods of the Kruskal type is proposed. Secondly, the problem of optimal placement of information resources in a local network configuration is considered, which is focused on finding the minimum cost flows in the network model. The paper shows that algorithms, based on the Hitchcock method, can be recommended for this purpose.
