Packet Reordering Correction for Low-Latency Network Applications

Packet reordering is common in the current Internet. We discuss options for correction of packet reordering on the receiver side of RTP audiovisual streams transmitted on top of the unreliable UDP protocol. We describe a design of a packet reordering correction unit suitable for efficient FPGA implementation and we present the resource consumption of the proposed solution.
