A Low-Memory DGTD and FETD Method for Electromagnetic-circuital-thermal Co-simulation

A low memory discontinuous Galerkin time domain (DGTD) method and finite-element time-domain (FETD) method is proposed for electromagnetic-circuital-thermal co-simulation in this paper. In the DGTD method, the second order vector basis functions used to expand the unknowns are represented by the volume coordinate. Then matrices of the DGTD method can be rewritten as the product of the universal matrices and the element-dependent coefficients. The universal matrices only need to be calculated once, thus giving rise to a great decrease of the memory usage. Finally, by using the proposed method, about 7 times storage reduction can be obtained when the second order basis functions are adopted.
