Data Retrieval from RS-485 Implemented Energy Meter for Industrial Monitoring System

Monitoring energy parameters now a days is big task. In many industries energy audit can be performed and accordingly notification is developed. Now a days this task can be performed using smart meter. Energy parameters are monitored using smart meter as well Rs485 microcontroller. This research work attempts to implement an energy monitoring system. Message Queue Telemetry Transport (MQTT) protocol is an application layer protocol. The application layer provides an interface between Internet of Things devices (end nodes). MQTT is designed in such a way that client and server both can communicate with each other. It can initiate the data communication. RS 485 is used for serial communication. Data retrieval process is carried out using RS 485. It is then interfaced with multifunction energy meter. RS485 read the data and transfer it to cloud via Wi-Fi based modem.
