University Reform for Competency-Based Education using Eduinformatics by Significant Other Groups

Kobe Tokiwa University established its first university reform team in 2014. The team developed a list of 19 Tokiwa competencies, using which it started new curricula since 2017. Now, for the new curriculum for 2022, a second university reform is underway. In this study, we evaluate the validity of the 19 Tokiwa competencies through cooperation with significant other groups. A missing data analysis and exploratory factor analysis showed that the competencies can be reduced from 19 to 13. One problem with Kobe Tokiwa university's curriculum is the large number of competencies. However, it is not easy to reduce the number of competencies because of their interrelationships. Further research is needed to make effective use of competencies in the future.
