A Ku-band Oscillator Based on Air Coaxial Resonator

This paper presents a Ku-band oscillator based on air coaxial resonator. The air coaxial resonator operates at 11.5GHz and the simulated unloaded Q-factor is 3400. The air coaxial resonator is directly fabricated in the shielding box of the oscillator by CNC technology, which is improve the reliability. A Ku-band oscillator circuit is designed by using an air coaxial resonator as a parallel-feedback element. The measured results show the developed oscillator has an output power about -3.56dBm and a low phase noise of -109.9dBc/Hz at 100kHz offset with an operating frequency at 11.6GHz.
