Monolithic Millimeter Wave Dielectric Resonator Wide-angle Scanning Phased Array

A monolithic Millimeter wave wide-angle scanning phased array based on dielectric resonator antenna is proposed in this paper. By transforming a conventional rectangular dielectric resonator antenna into a T-shape structure and changing the boundary condition of the two curved surfaces, the half power beam width (HPBW) is improved greatly. And each element can unit together as a whole, reducing the assembly difficulty of small size millimeter wave antenna. A 1×8 linear array based on this design can scan from -60°to +60°that is improved greatly comparing with a conventional rectangular DRA 1×8 linear array.
