Design of A Folded Square Slot Based FSS with High Selectivity and Good Angular Stability

A novel frequency selective structure (FSS) based on folded square slot resonators with high selectivity and good angular stability is proposed in this paper. The miniaturized FSS unit cell is achieved by coupling flexural square slot resonators. Hence, the performance of the FSS especially in angular stability can be improved. What’s more, the introduction of symmetrical structure on every layer promotes FSS to exhibit good stability for RCP and LCP polarizations. In addition, by designing different parts of the top and bottom layers, two transmission zeros are generated near the upper and lower edge of the passband respectively, which greatly improve the selectivity. Finally, the effects of the geometrical parameters on the frequencies of transmission zeros are analyzed.
