The Improving Reliability of the Electric Drive and the Productivity of the Technological Process are Due to More Complete Use of the Thermal Resource of the Electric Motor

This paper considers the possibilities of improving the reliability of the electric drive and the productivity of the technological process by minimizing the influence of thermomechanical loads on the insulation of the stator windings of the electric motor during a long cycle of operation and more complete use of its temperature resource. The paper discusses the causes of thermomechanical loads, examples of their influence on the insulation of the stator windings of electric machines. The way is proposed to minimize their influence, which also makes it possible to increase the productivity of the technological process by controlling the electric drive in such a way as to maintain the maximum permissible temperature of the stator windings throughout the entire working cycle, except for start and stop, where heating and cooling processes are inevitable. The scheme of the control system implementing the proposed approach is given, the principle of its operation is explained in detail. Possible areas of application of this way and their limiting factors are considered.
