Portable Smart Storage Units for Agricultural Products

Crop protection has extremely improved in thelast 50 years and will continue to do so. Crop protection is essential for maintaining high crop productivity and quality. People have utilised various pesticides, insecticides, and appropriate improved agronomic methods to manage fungal disease in order to boost production in recent years. But insects are not only the cause for the destruction of the crops. The climatic conditions also play a crucial role in the growth of the crops. The production of different types of crops increased progressively due to implementation of advance production practices but because of improper storage facilities huge number of crops has been spoiled over the years and the number of crops being spoiled during the harvesting period has risen stupendously. Different storage structures generally have been used for maintaining the quality of the stored crops for long time with minimal microbial and insects-pest losses. Indigenous technologies have been developed by the local farming communities for harnessing the locally available natural and easily accessible resources to develop the cost effective and eco-friendly structures and practices which as of now aren't much effective. This review paper deals with a contemporary structure of a storage unit.
