An Optimized Multiple Malicious Node Detection method for detection of security attacks in VANETs

Vehicular Adhoc Networks (VANETs) are used to do communication between different vehicular nodes. But this communication is affected by various security threats which can hamper the performance of network. The proposed research will help in detection of one such attack that is DoS attack (Denial of Service) attack. This will help VANET in detecting flooding in DoS attack. The detection of malicious nodes and invalid networks is based on evaluation of entropy and threshold values. The proposed algorithm that is MMPDA (Multiple Malicious Node Detection Algorithm) is evaluated using various parameters like average throughput, packet delivery ratio and end to end delay. It is compared with state-of-art techniques and proved to be much better in detection of malicious nodes.
