Micromachined W-band Eight-way Power Divider Based on Micro-coaxial Lines

This paper presents a micromachined eight-way T-type power divider based on micro-coaxial lines. For ease of testing, two identical power dividers are placed in back-to-back configuration, and CPW to micro-coaxial line transitions are added at the input and output ports. The whole structure is directly measured using an on-wafer probe system. At 75–110 GHz, the measured return loss is better than 15 dB and the total insertion loss is 1–2 dB, showing excellent performance in terms of loss and phase balance. The divider can be widely used in power combined amplifiers and phased arrays.
