Spectral analysis of pyrolytic reaction products of typical high voltage cable materials

In this paper, the pyrolysis kinetic behavior and mass spectrum of pyrolysis products of typical flame retardant cables under different temperatures were studied by using a self-built bipolar micro fixed bed reactor. It is found that the pyrolysis of the outer protective sleeve of the cable can be divided into two stages, which is 300 ℃ and 450 ℃, respectively. The signal intensity of benzene is the highest, and there are double peaks in the signal pyrolysis experiment of pentene and 2-acetylene furan. It indicates that the outer protective sleeve of the cable can pyrolyze pentene and 2-acetylene furan at two temperatures. O-methoxyphenol was the most common product in the pyrolysis process of the inner protective sleeve. The pyrolytic product of cable filler is furfural. The gas components from the thermal analysis of the cable insulation layer are relatively dispersed, mainly including benzene, phenylethanol, dimethoxypropylene phenol, carbon dioxide, 2-acetylene furan, p-methoxyacetophenone, 1,4-phenyldiethanol, acetone and butyraldehyde. This paper will provide a basis data for the protection of cable fire.
