Market-oriented transmission network expansion planning with consideration of wet and dry characteristics of hydropower

Under the background of "new electricity reform", the problems of the traditional expansion planning methods began to emerge. In the high-proportion hydropower system, the peak-valley difference caused by the unique characteristics of hydropower is huge, and the low load ratio makes the seasonal contradiction of power supply more prominent. Based on this phenomenon, a bi-level collaborative expansion planning model is proposed considering hydropower output in high and low water periods. The upper layer to maximize power economic effects and lower layer using the C-means algorithm is considered the spot market and characteristics of transmission system operation, the expansion planning of the power grid determined by the market promotes the absorption of hydropower resources during high and low water periods. KKT condition is used to transform the bi-level model into MILP problem. Finally, an actual hydropower network is used to verify the effectiveness of the method proposed in this article, and can solve the problems of congestion surplus and hydropower consumption.
