Study on Potential Transfer Model Considering Dynamic Arc Characteristics

Live working is essential for maintaining ultra-high voltage transmission lines. In the process of live working, the lineman enters the high potential from the ground potential with the help of conductive gloves or potential transfer rod, which is the process of the potential transfer. Because there will be a significant potential transfer current in this process, the research on this process is of great significance to the personal safety of linemen. Based on the study of the three-conductor model proposed by researchers, this paper considered the influence of dynamic arc characteristics on the potential transfer process. Then the arc model and potential transfer transient simulation model were established through ATP-EMTP software to obtain the potential transfer current of linemen in different positions. Finally, we compared the simulation results of using a potential transfer rod and an arc model. It provided a theoretical reference for the safety protection of personnel in the process of the potential transfer.
