Evaluation of Turbulence Models for Flow and Heat Transfer of Drop-Shaped Tubes

Heat transfer and turbulent flow passing over a single tube and a bundle of drop-shaped tubes have been simulated by Ansys Fluent package. Five two-transport-equation turbulence models were considered. The strengths and weaknesses of the studied models have been studied. The numerical results were compared with the available experimental data. In addition, the capability of turbulence models to predict a flow pattern around the tubes was presented.
