Measurement of the Degree of Humidification of Insulation Gaps of High-Voltage Energy Equipment

The article discusses the problems of establishing and assessing the degree of humidification of a paper-oil insulation system, for further assessment of the condition of the insulation system. Modern methods for determining the humidity of insulation, such as methods of return voltage and methods of dielectric spectroscopy, their basic principles and disadvantages are presented. The authors propose to use the polarization index as a control parameter, which is characterized by the ratio of the values of the polarization current in from the function of the time. The article presents the dependences of the polarization current in the insulation interval on the time of voltage application with different values of insulation humidity. The article describes the functional relationship between the revealed dependencies of the polarization index on the degree of moisture content of materials, and the magnitude of the degree index in the Cure-von Schweider equation. In their work, the authors consider a pattern that reveals the dependence of the number of breaks in the polymer chain of macromolecules of insulating paper on the degree of its moisture. Innovative is the fact that the proposed method for measuring the degree of humidification of the insulating structure of an electrical device is practically not affected by the ambient temperature, since the studied polarization curve passes through an isopermanent point.
