Digital 3D Model in Geometric and Graphic Education

Digital support of all stages of the product life cycle is a characteristic feature of modern industry. This changes the ideology of engineering work and the model of design activity, with the 3D model of the object being of great importance. It is relevant to reflect the ongoing changes in engineering education and, in particular, in the basic geometric and graphic training of students of technical universities. The article discusses 3D models in project activities and introduction of 3D technology in the program of geometric and graphic training. Practical examples are given. The advantages of innovations contributing to the formation of students' creative engineering thinking are shown.
