Evaluation of ART_V1.0 and ART_V1.1 datasets over Hainan Island and South China Sea

Grid live analysis datasets are the basis of refined grid forecasts, and they have been widely used in refined meteorological services closely related to people's livelihood. A detailed understanding of the reliability of these datasets can assist in related research. In this study, the near-surface temperature, relative humidity, precipitation, and wind speed products of Analysis system of Real-Time Version 1.0 (ART_V1.0) and Version 1.1 (ART_V1.0) were evaluated by comparison with the ground automatic meteorological observation data for Hainan Province. The quality of four element products of ART_V1.1 was better than those of ART_V1.0 in Hainan, and this improvement was even more significant in the complex terrain areas of Hainan Island and the South China Sea Islands. The quality of ART_V1.1 precipitation products on Hainan Island was not significantly different from ART _V1.0. But the ART _V1.1 precipitation product indicators on the islands of the South China Sea on all grades significantly improved those of ART _V1.0. The ART_V1.1 near-surface wind speed product accuracy over the islands of the South China Sea at low wind levels was significantly higher than in ART_V1.0, but the quality of near-surface wind speed products at high wind levels still needs to be improved.
