Development of a Hardware Simulator for a Micro Turbojet Engine

Aviation industry has been going through a significant growth in the past decades. Parallel to this environmental impact of aircrafts is increasing as well. In order to manage these effects aviation is seeking for more and more advanced solutions. Regarding to the high safety demand in this field, technology and development can reach huge level of costs and it is also a time-consuming process. In order to cut these expenses and time, the application of simulations is very advantageous. It is well known that probably the most critical unit of an aircraft is the engine. Modern jet engines play a very important role in reducing the emission in aviation. In this paper a complete design of turbojet engine hardware simulator is presented. It covers the motivation of the project, the hardware and software structure of the built unit, the system identification of the turbojet engine and the simulation results compared with the real operation measurement data and insights into further possible developments.
