Abstract:
It is a well-known fact that, Agriculture is considered as the backbone of every country present across the globe. Being such a huge sector, farming requires a large amount of water. Many crops require a limited amount of water, so maintaining the water level is important because excessive water usage will harm the crop. So, it is necessary to know which crop to be grown in the field according to the conditions. Farmers use the traditional way to determine which crop to sow on the soil. When the same crop is grown on the same soil repeatedly, the soil's nutrition supply is depleted. So, to solve this, a suitable smart farming system is necessary. This can be achieved using Arduino. IoT, Machine Learning. and Wireless Sensor Network. Wireless sensors such as pH sensors, temperature sensors, and soil moisture sensors is used in this system. These sensors will detect changes in the field and relay them to Arduino. which will activate the associated actuators. A suitable crop is also predicted from the sensor values using machine learning. A web application with a suitable user interface is created for recommending the crop. The proposed system will help in reducing water usage while increasing annual yield.
