A Remote Equipment Experiencing System Based On Microservice and Blockchain

It must be exciting and instructive for college students or museum visitors to have hand-on experiences on cutting-edge equipment such as intelligent production lines, satellites, or tanks. However, much of the cutting-edge equipment is unreachable due to their affordability, rareness, or complexity etc. A remote equipment experiencing system is therefore proposed to enhance user experiences by immersing themselves in these equipment items through an equipment sharing mechanism and realization of microservice and blockchain. The system including a library of predefined services is distributed and open and enables resources sharing to make up different scenarios. The services could thereby be composed for equipment-specific experiencing systems dynamically and efficiently. The main contribution of this work is a new equipment sharing model that is realized by service-oriented remote experiencing systems with micro-services, which operate on a container-based cloud, and to be certificated and tracked with a blockchain ecosystem.
