IoT based Automated Examination Management System with Biometric Portal

Examinations are one of the most renowned approaches to assessing each academic institution’s students. One’s theoretical knowledge, aptitude, and diligence bloomed in an Exam. A chunk of adroit and manual effort is necessary to conduct it incessantly. Planning and organizing seating arrangements, supervision duty charts of invigilators, and the proper distribution of scripts within a short time is a plodding task. Automating these banal practices will be efficient and myriad time-saving. This paper focuses on the endeavors that are effective for an Examination Cell. A combination of automation and the Internet of Things has been manipulated, wherein the frontend unit NodeMCU Microcontroller assembled with a Fingerprint module and a motorized script delivery system. In the backend, a localhost server has been created on Xampp using PHP and MySQL language to store and verify the biometric data of all examinees. This system is capable of authenticating an examinee and providing exam scripts precisely. Also, the Exam controlling authority can observe every student’s entry & real-time information through the website. The system’s accuracy demonstrates that it is robust, low-cost, and suitable for usage in various schools and universities.
