A Comparative Analysis of Localization Techniques in Wireless Sensor Network

Wireless sensor networks are widely used in different applications. They are employed in different regions attached with sensors to observe or to take data from that particular area. The location of the nodes is very much important as in the case of a collective system. Every node deployed to provide a certain set of information which is very much valuable considering the application of a wireless sensor network. Localization can be classified based on range measurement. Range based method make use of distance or time as a computation measure. Range free methods are cost effective because of lesser hardware constraints. Distance velocity hop is a range free technique which uses hop based computation. A distance based localization measures the distance between the nodes and the position of unknown node is estimated. The performance of both the algorithm is compared and the results are analyzed.
