Optimization of Self-Adaptive INR-MPPT for R-Mode RED Stacks

This paper presents a self-adaptive incremental-resistance maximum-power-point-tracking (INR-MPPT) method to achieve maximum power extraction from a recycle-mode (R-mode) operating reverse-electrodialysis (RED) stack. By considering the electrical characteristics of the R-mode RED stack, the design principle of the INR-MPPT method, which involves its scaling factor and sampling period, to ensure both fast response and system stability, is discussed. The validity of the proposed INR-MPPT method is verified by simulation and experiments.
