Joint Time and Power Control of Energy Harvesting CRN Based on PPO

Cognitive radio networks (CRNs) with energy harvesting (EH) represent a promising solution to improve the energy efficiency (EE) of wireless networks and alleviate the scarcity of spectrum resources. However, the control of multidimensional resources in the network requires in-depth study. This paper proposes a proximal policy optimization (PPO) based algorithm to achieve joint control of the EH time and transmission power in dynamic EH-CRNs. The throughput of secondary users (SU) is maximized under energy and quality of service (QoS) constraints. The simulation results show that the proposed algorithm achieves higher throughput and EE than greedy and random algorithms.
