Methods and process of service migration from monolithic architecture to microservices

This paper considers the concept of service migration from monolithic architecture to microservices. Microservice architecture is becoming increasingly popular due to the inability of traditional monolithic architecture to meet the needs of scalability and rapid development cycle. Both types of architecture and their main differences, benefits and disadvantages are considered. The process of monolith application migration is presented. A few key steps, which are required for successful migration, are described. One of the most important things is automated deployment of microservices to production environment. Three methods, which allow automated microservice deployment to different environments with minimum downtime, were considered.
