A Course Design for Teaching Leadership Skills

People are the backbone of any organization, and thus the important factor that determines whether an organization will be successful – or fail. This makes leadership a highly relevant skill for future professionals. Therefore, in our institution we aim at providing students not only with factual knowledge and technical competences, but with leadership skills as well, thus enabling them to take on responsibility and inspire and guide others. In this work, we present a course design for teaching leadership skills, which not only addresses the topic in a theoretical manner, but in addition creates a setting where students can actively apply selected aspects of leadership skills.
