Prototype of A Multistory Motorcycle Parking Garage

Population growth in Indonesia directly results in an increasing need for proper transportation for the community. Given that the existing transportation system is not yet perfect, many people try to have their private vehicles, especially two-wheeled vehicles or motorcycles. Motorcycles are the most feasible choice for middle-income people or the favorite choice for students who like simple but practical vehicles. The increase in the number of motorcycles directly results in the need for parking spaces increasing. The next problem that arises is that it is increasingly difficult to find a sufficient parking area to park the motorbike. This parking problem is the background for this research that aims to design a motorcycle parking system that is simple, smart, and works automatically. It is expected to be one of the solutions that can help overcome this parking problem. In this study, the design of the mechanical structure of the parking system, and the way to operate this system are developed. Furthermore, a prototype has been built to simulate and assess the performance of this parking system when handling motorcycles entering or leaving the parking system.
