Information System of Cartographic Images Analysis for Soil Condition Monitoring of Agricultural Parcels

The main purpose of environmental monitoring is to manage and minimize the impact of human’s activities on the environment, to ensure compliance with laws and regulations, or to reduce the risk of adverse effects on the environment and human health. At the same time, we present the system for the automated processing of cartographic data. This system is used as a component of the information-analytical system of organic farming and ensuring the environmental sustainability of soils. In this paper, we described the steps of design and development of the information system of cartographic images analysis based on the high-level Python language. The graphical method was used for calculating the area of interesting agricultural parcels from a satellite image. The developed image processing system allows us to perform a full range of subtasks required for fast and efficient processing. Comparative results of the speed of the individual stages of processing and analysis are presented as well.
