A New Polar Integrated Alignment Algorithm with the Aids of DVL and the Improved Polarized-light Navigation

The satellite navigation and the celestial navigation, as traditional auxiliary navigation sources cannot totally provide available and continuous information in the polar regions, especially under conditions such as magnetic storms and polar day. Consequently, it leads to the difficulties in the polar integrated alignment. In this paper, a new polar integrated alignment algorithm is proposed based on the azimuth and velocity, which are supplied by the improved polarized light (PL) navigation and the Doppler velocity log (DVL) respectively. Initially, the PL algorithm for the polar region is improved on the existing transverse navigation mechanism. Furthermore, the navigation coordinate systems of strap-down inertial navigation system (SINS), PL and DVL are unified. This paper builds the framework of the integrated alignment Algorithm of SINS/PL/DVL, and the simulation experiments are carried out. Eventually, the simulation results show that At 200s, the error of roll angle and pitch angle is less than 0.25’, and the azimuth accuracy is less than 0.8’, which means that the attitude errors of the integrated alignment system can be effectively estimated by the azimuth provided by the improved PL and the carries velocity provided by DVL.
