Optimized Configuration of Electric Vehicles and Renewable Distributed Generation in V2G mode

Large-scale disorderly connection of electric vehicles (EVs) to the grid has significant impacts on the distribution network. Based on this background, this article aggregates large-scale EVs by time intervals, according to peak-valley price system and “Grid-Connected Reservation System” (GCRS), while the optimized configuration of renewable distributed generation (RDG) is taken into account. To achieve the goal of minimizing the active power loss of the distribution network, firstly, a mathematical model is established to optimize the active/reactive output of EV charging stations and the reactive output of RDGs. Secondly, a recently proposed Jaya algorithm is adopted to solve this mathematical model. Finally, an extended IEEE 33-node distribution network is provided for simulation, whose results show that, the optimized configuration of the EVs and RDGs can effectively decrease the load peak-valley difference, reduce the active power loss, and reduce the voltage deviation as well.
