The Problem of Metamerism Effect Failure in Modern Video Systems

The metamerism effect failure problem in color imaging workflow on devices with narrow SPD functions is shown. The models of CIE Standard Observer (2 degree and 10 degree) used in color imaging, as well as the Categorical type observer models, allowing to reduce the metamerism effect failure, are considered. The comparative analysis of the metamerism effect failure violation for modern displays with different SPD functions in the case of using models of Standard and Categorical type observer is given.
