Experimental Study of the Electrodynamics Characteristics of Microwave Devices by the Automated Method of Resonant and Non-resonant Disturbances

Experimental EDC studies of real periodic structures (PS) make it possible to obtain reliable information about their properties and patterns of wave propagation which is necessary for assessing the error in calculating the characteristics by multivariate field methods, constructing the developed mathematical models and their subsequent correction. This paper presents the results of the development of an automated measuring and computing complex (MCC) based on Keysight Technologies Network Analyzer N5230C, operating in the range of 10 MHz – 20 GHz, for studying electrodynamic characteristics (EDC) of microwave devices by methods of resonant and non-resonant disturbances. The MCC control program, implemented in a graphical LabVIEW software, provides automatic installation and movement of the disturbing body, automatic search for resonant frequencies and determination of their drifts.
