Charge Relaxation and Kinetic Accumulation of Non-woven Polypropylene and Polyimide Films

Polypropylenes (PP) and polyimides (PI) are non-polar and polar polymers widely used in mechanical engineering, in manufacturing of composite materials and medical equipment. The article is focused on the study of electrical and electret properties of non-wovens "Spunbond" polypropylenes (CC20 - CC100) and non-woven polyimides. Charge accumulation kinetics and charge relaxations were tested and analyzed for these materials. The stability of the electret state was studied by the method of thermoactivation spectroscopy. The dependences of the compensating potential difference on time under isothermal conditions were received over a wide range of temperatures. Electrets were produced in a corona discharge with the negative and positive polarity of corona electrode. The results obtained will allow to expand the scope of application of these materials.
