Designing the Control Systems for Boiler-Turbine Unit of Sugar Factory

In any sugar factory, the waste bagasse produced by the crushing unit is consumed as a fuel for the production of electric power for whole sugar mill. The bagasse is burnt, and through it high pressure seam generation takes place in boilers, which runs the turbine to produce the electricity. The goal of this research paper is to establish control systems for regulation of the generated electric power. Two different controller design techniques have been used in MATLAB viz. Smith predictor and IMC controller. At the end, a comparative analysis of these controllers has been presented.
