Dual-Polarized Filtering Dipole Antenna with Integrated Differential Feeding Structure

This article proposes one way for designing a dual-polarized printed dipole with integrated differential feeding structure. Firstly, a new filtering dipole is proposed and analyzed, which consists of three microstrip resonators. The dipole consists of a partial structure of two resonators and another resonator is used to realize the function of differential feeding. The proposed filtering dipole achieves a second-order Chebyshev response. A dual-polarized dipole is designed and fabricated based on this dipole. The simulated and measured results of the fabricated dual-polarized print dipole antenna are present. The measured S11 and S22 of the fabricated antenna are less than -10 dB in the passband (1.17 to 1.255 GHz) and the isolation (S21) is bigger than 28 dB. The measured gain is bigger than 7.5 dBi.
