Ionospheric response to strong geomagnetic storm during 07-09 September 2017 in China

A G4-level strong geomagnetic storm occurred from September 7 to 8, 2017, and it caused seriously impact on the Earth's ionosphere. In this work, the ionospheric response to geomagnetic storm during 07–09 September, 2017 is studied in China region. The variation of foF2, hmF2 and the disturbance index P induced from foF2 are analyzed during the storm time. It is found that travelling ionospheric disturbance played an important role in the developing of the positive ionospheric storm during this strong geomagnetic storm.
