A Perspective on Pet Emotion Monitoring Using Millimeter Wave Radar

Understanding a pet's emotions is the key to improving pet welfare. Previous studies have demonstrated that pet emotions can be interpreted by using pet vital signs, and the most effective way to monitor and identify vital signs is millimeter wave radar, but few studies have applied millimeter wave radar to pet emotion monitoring. In this paper, we summarize the changes of vital signs of pets under different emotions through literature combing. The relevant studies on vital sign radar are also analyzed and compared, and the technical features and challenges of millimeter wave radar are summarized. Finally, an innovative research direction of applying millimeter-wave radar to pet emotion monitoring is proposed.
