Investigation of Transmission Phase of SSPP Lines with Linear Tapered Transitions

The transmission phase of spoof surface plasmon polariton (SSPP) transmission lines with linear tapered transitions is investigated in this paper. Based on the theory of microwave network, the scatter parameters of the whole structure are calculated, which agree well with the simulated results of commercial solver. Moreover, by using the dispersion equation of SSPP unit cell, the transmission phase of the transition part can be obtained from the SSPP transmission line with equivalent height. Good agreement is achieved between the calculation and simulation, proving the validity of the proposed method in this paper.
